Russell has been with us for over three years and came to us with a similar story like yours. Worked a stressful job, he drank, ate poorly, smoked socially and neglected his health. Aside from the occasional pick up game of basketball this was the most active he was, continuing on a degenerative lifestyle and illness. On top of all this he and his wife were about to have their first child and was in no way ready to lead a good example of a healthy lifestyle.
Wanting better for himself he eventually walked through our doors. Russell began attending a few times a week and slowly he began to see changes. Unfortunately this immediately gave the green light to continue his bad habits (some of us can relate) of smoking and drinking again. This time using CrossFit as a crutch to get away with it. He eventually feel off the program and quit. CrossFit had failed him and he decided to go back to the 24hr Fitness grind and do it on his own. But what he noticed is that he longed the camaraderie and friendships he had made. Eventually he made it back. Fully committing to the program this time and dialing his nutrition. He first started with the Whole30 and took the lessons from clean eating. Russell began to see measurable results and began feeling the changes. He now comes at least three times and a regular at the 6:00am. He and his wife are about to have second child and I couldn’t be more proud of the example he is now he is setting for his family. Cheers to you sir and keep up the hard work.
